Chemical Peel

Resurfacing for Tone & Texture

Professional chemical peels use carefully formulated acids to accelerate skin cell turnover, revealing smoother, brighter, more even-toned skin beneath — with results that improve with each treatment.

Chemical peels are one of the most versatile and proven treatments in aesthetic medicine. By applying a carefully selected chemical solution to the skin, we accelerate the natural skin cell turnover process — removing the outermost layers of damaged, discolored, or textured skin to reveal the fresher, more radiant skin beneath.

Types of Chemical Peels

Superficial peels (light peels): Use alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) like glycolic or lactic acid, or beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs) like salicylic acid. These peels exfoliate the outermost layer of skin (epidermis) with minimal downtime. Ideal for mild discoloration, dullness, and acne-prone skin. Series of treatments recommended for best results.

Medium peels: Typically use trichloroacetic acid (TCA) at varying concentrations. These peels penetrate into the upper dermis, addressing moderate sun damage, deeper lines, and more significant hyperpigmentation. Some peeling and redness for 5–7 days. Deep peels: Use phenol or high-concentration TCA to penetrate deeply into the dermis. Reserved for significant sun damage, deep wrinkles, and severe discoloration. Significant downtime required.

The VI Peel

At iGlow Vegas, we offer the VI Peel — a professional-grade medium-depth peel that combines multiple acids (TCA, salicylic acid, phenol, vitamin C, and tretinoin) for comprehensive skin improvement with less downtime than traditional medium peels.

The VI Peel addresses fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and melasma, acne and acne scarring, sun damage, and uneven skin tone and texture. The unique formula is suitable for all skin types and tones, including darker skin tones that may be at higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation with other peels.

What to Expect

Your peel begins with a thorough cleanse and degreasing of the skin. The peel solution is then applied in layers, with the number of layers determining the depth of treatment. You may feel a tingling or mild burning sensation during application, which subsides quickly.

For superficial peels, you may experience mild redness and flaking for 2–3 days. For medium peels like the VI Peel, expect more significant peeling beginning around day 3 and continuing for 5–7 days. During the peeling phase, it's important to keep the skin moisturized and protected from sun exposure.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Chemical peels are appropriate for adults seeking to improve skin tone, texture, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, or acne. The appropriate peel type and depth will be determined during your consultation based on your skin concerns, skin type, and tolerance for downtime. Peels are not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, or on actively tanned skin.
